Wishcasting Wednesday 8.4.10

This week, Jamie asks, "What do you wish for your creativity?"

Continuing this week's theme -- I wish for my creativity to have space to flourish.

When I did my Weekly Intention on Monday, I talked about clearing space in my home for new dreams.  Yesterday, Drew and I worked on the dining room.  Now, I'm sure this confession will deeply disappoint Mark Brunetz if he ever sees it, but I have no intention of  "restoring its function as a dining room" -- sorry!

We just aren't eat-dinner-at-the-table people.  We never have been.  Ever.  And since we have no human children to teach table manners, well, so be it.  (That should go on my Dammit List -- We don't use the dining table for eating dinner, and that's okay, dammit!)

It is however a large and lovely flat surface to use for art!  When it's free of other clutter.  And it is located near a large bookshelf that could be reclaimed for art books and supplies.

*rubs hands together gleefully*  I love it when a plan comes together!

LOL loooove it..our dining room table if full of child creations..markers, colored pencils..etc. etc. (I run a preschool!) The little table in the kitchen and in my studio are full of my artstuff..pencils and paints etc etc... When we want to (have five kiddos of my own and several furbabies) we clear off the big table and eat together..sometimes we eat outside...we are pretty free and easy!!

My dining room table has become my little studio. It's perfect and I love my little space.

  4. As Pink wishes for herself, I wish for her also. My dining room table often has art supplies on it, and my partner got so frustrated that he made me a table from old doors so that I could leave my mess there. I don't like putting away my art supplies, I like them handy when inspiration arises.

  5. As Pink wishes for herself, I wish for her as well. A dinig room table can be the perfect place for creative magic to take place. Have fun in your new space.

  8. You have no idea how much I resonate with this post today. I am 40 years old and have just been told off by my mother for turning my dining table into an art studio! "Where do you eat?" she admonished. "at the table in the garden was my reply or cramped around the small picnic table in the kitchen with chairs that don't match or fit." But that's just fine with this household - something she doesn't understand at all!!
And so, may I join in and celebrate your wish with you - go paint at that table and eat off the carpet if you want to - it's your house!!

  10. Fantastic plan! Dining tables are the most awesome places for working on creative things. I think I should go home right now and clear mine off, too! :)

As Pink wishes for herself, so I wish for her as well.

  13. Hell it's your space, do what you want with it! Where is it written that the room off the kitchen has to be a room-for-dining. Yours is a room-for-creating! So as you give a house tour to your visitors you an say "and over hear is my studio, or my creative space" paint the walls pink and hang art everywhere. Put up a screen if you want to hide the inevitable mess. I love the idea!!

As Pink wishes for herself, so I wish for her as well!
